Jerry Teters is a visual artist and drummer who has combined his love of these two art forms for more than three decades. He holds a Masters in Painting from the State University of New York at New Paltz and has studied in New York City at Pratt Institute, the Art Students League, and the National Academy of Design.
Living in close proximity to the cliffs of the Shawangunk Ridge has also strongly influenced Jerry’s color palette, the importance of shape and line, and urged him to develop a fresh sense of how texture can bring depth and mood to the surface of a painting.
Jerry’s paintings, prints, and mixed medium works are owned by many private collectors and have been exhibited in group and one-person shows in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and throughout the Hudson Valley.
Betty Marton is the person you’re most likely to speak with about Teters Art. She’ll bring paintings for you to see and work with you to turn your vision for a commission painting into reality. When not immersed in visual art, she writes the stories people tell of their lives and work in In Your Own Words.
Betty and Jerry met in New York City as art students and now live in New Paltz, NY. Their three children are all musicians; the two dogs don’t seem to be.
